Lilly Mae Reynolds
A shy and retiring and delicate flower... has never been a way anyone who knew her would describe Lilly Mae.
Born in 1908, Lilly Mae Reynolds has been living off her wits and talents since she left the Mississippi Delta at the tender age of 16, May of 1925. Her mother sent her to live with relatives in Chicago in order to keep her from being lynched. Although we are introduced to her as an elderly woman in the first book, during the course of most of the story we follow her adventures as a young woman in Germany and France.

Nichelle Houghton-Morris
The eldest sister. Former military now a corporate executive in New York City. Wife and mother of fraternal twins. She did not know that her family had a connection to the supernatural world. But she finds about out a lot in a short period of time.
Robyn Houghton
The middle sister. Her cover is that she's a bounty hunter. A vagabond, she lives everywhere, currently Istanbul. She is an intelligence freelancer working with the Water dimension's international agency, MOANA. Unlike her older sister she is very familiar with the supernatural world.
Sylvia Houghton
The youngest sister. She is about to finish her masters. She studies folk medicine and practices. She is familiar with but has never been exposed to the supernatural world though she is aware of some of it. She lives down the street from their parents in New Orleans.
